Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS), a part of the Tata Group, is a leading IT consulting, services, and BPO organization. It began operations in 1968 and today has clients all over the world. TCS has developed IT solutions for over 500 customers all over the world. Among them are Singapore Airlines, Nike, Kellogg's, British Gas, General Motors and Deutsche Bank. Last year, the company earned revenues of Rs.132 billion.

Technologies

In 1981, TCS set up the Tata Research, Design and Development Centre (TRDDC), India's first industrial software R&D centre, in Pune. The core areas of research are systems and software engineering, process engineering, embedded systems, VLSI, bioinformatics and security. The company has developed several proprietary tools such as Mastercraft and Assent.
